Despite the impact of the pandemic, CRRC supported two new metro lines to start operation successfully in Wuhan – Phase II of Wuhan Metro Line 8 and the Gedian section of Wuhan Metro Line 11.
Line 8 is 39.2 kilometers in total length. It is a line important to people’s life, and will become an important traffic corridor crossing the Yangtze River that alleviates the traffic pressure of Wuhan Second Ring Line. With a speed up to 80km/h, the train adopts A-type cars with six carriages, and interfaces are reserved for expansion to eight carriages. The design of the train is inspired by the Jinchu Chime Culture. The green chime belt runs through the entire train, highlighting the profound history and culture of Wuhan and Hubei.
Wuhan Metro Line 11 also adopts A-type cars with six carriages and a maximum speed of 100km/h. The front of the train follows the “Crane Yellow” design of the Phase I project, and the ceiling of the carriage interior adopts the improved “blue sky white cloud” lighting solution, removing lamp frames, thus further improving the overall look of the lamps.
The two metro lines put into operation are the first new lines started after the pandemic. The company strived to overcome the impact of the pandemic, and built metro vehicles with a nice look and advanced technology that will offer better experience.
