On August 18, good news came from Shenzhen that Shenzhen Metro Line 10 equipped with TEC’s permanent magnet synchronous traction system was officially put into operation. The opening of this metro line will greatly relieve the traffic pressure from Futian central area to Bantian section, and become another "North South artery" of Shenzhen rail transit, providing more convenience for citizens to travel.

The first batch application of permanent magnet traction system in Shenzhen is the first 80km / h permanent magnet metro of type a vehicle in China, with a total of 35 trains, adopting TEC’s traction system. Among them, 10 trains adopt permanent magnet synchronous traction system, and permanent magnet trains adopt 5-motor-3-trailer marshalling form, and their acceleration and deceleration performances are completely comparable. The 6-motor-2-trailer formation of asynchronous traction system greatly reflects the advantages of high-power density of permanent magnet traction system. The whole journey is 29.31km, with 24 stations. It is only 45 minutes from Futian port to Pinghu. Shenzhen Metro adjusted line 10 from 6A to 8A, creating the first South-North Line in Shenzhen.

TEC’s permanent magnet synchronous traction system is based on the technology of permanent magnet electric drive system. Its traction motor adopts synchronous motor with permanent magnet in rotor. It has the characteristics of small volume, light weight, no excitation loss, high efficiency, high power factor and high-power density. Compared with the traditional asynchronous motor traction system, the energy saving rate of permanent magnet traction system is up to 30%. According to the average annual operation mileage of 120000 km per train and the energy consumption per km of train is about 15kwh, the annual power saving of each train is more than 500000 kwh, with significant economic benefits, which is known as the next generation of green and energy-saving traction system. The application of permanent magnet traction system in Shenzhen will form a good demonstration effect for the promotion of permanent magnet traction system.
