New Generation Propulsion System

New generation propulsion system for mass transit has been developed and passed FAI smoothly, which marks the company has laid a good foundation for the promotion and application of propulsion system products.

The new generation propulsion system started in early 2013 and is now under commissioning and test.

The prototype mainly includes mono-module traction converter, power frequency auxiliary converter, braking resistor and so on. The monobloc inverter module with running wind heat pipe cooling  system, as well as iron core line reactor and contactor integrated are applied into the system for the first time. Compared with the existing distributed system, it has the characteristics of small volume, light, easy installation. Auxiliary converter platform has also been optimized for its weight, volume and noise. Braking resistance is firstly adopted the side-pulled braking resistor unit, which is easy for maintenance. Compared with the existing mature system, the application of the new system can reduce around 26.8% of the whole weight of vehicle, thus cuts down over 10% of the material cost. The noise indicator reaches international advanced level. The system is also available with different vehicle clearances and lifting requirements.

Highly appraised by the rail vehicle manufacturers and owners, the new generation propulsion system is scheduled to put into operation in five newly built metro lines in year 2014. We believe the new platform would benefit all our customers while further finalizing and promoting the product. We also expect to see more market share in the mass transit market and great influence on our future mass transit industry.
