The opening ceremony of “Seminar on Construction and Management of Urban Rail Transit for African Countries, 2014” commences on 11th April in TEC. The seminar is approved by China Ministry of Commerce, sponsored by Department of Commence of Hunan Province, organized by Hunan International Business Vocational College and co-organized by TEC. 22 officials and specialists from African countries like South Africa, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Ghana, Cameroon and Malawi come all the way over to learn rail experience.
The seminar will last 21 days. Participants could know China through the teaching model of theory with practice, and improve their level of rail transit as well. In addition, the cooperative relationship between China and developing countries in Africa will be strengthened.
As the largest rail transportation equipment manufacturing enterprise in China, CSR has obtained orders from over 10 African countries, such as Sudan, Namibia, Angola, South Africa, etc. Types of exported vehicles include electric locomotive, diesel locomotive, freight train, motor train, metro train, etc. Overseas locomotive manufacturing bases have been established in South Africa and Ethiopia. Particularly, CSR gained the order of 359 electric locomotives from South Africa on March 2014, becoming the largest locomotive export order in China.
As the supplier of key parts like rail transit electric traction under CSR, TEC has gained over 1000 orders of urban rail traction system and more than 600 orders of diesel locomotive traction system from overseas. Moreover, TEC is actively promoting the globalization strategy of R&D, talent and professional manufacturing. There are 3 global R&D centers in America, England and Australia so far, absorbing more than 500 foreign talents in various fields. Professional manufacturing bases have been established in England, German and Australia, with product entrance into over 30 countries and regions including Africa.
