The Baihetan-Jiangsu Project commenced its construction on July 17, 2019, with a total length of 2,087 kilometers of engineering line and a rated transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts. After it is successfully put into operation, Sichuan clean hydropower will be delivered to Jiangsu constantly, guaranteeing the power supply to East China in this winter and the next spring, promoting the transformation of Jiangsu's energy structure, and accelerating the realization of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals.
As the first hybrid cascaded UHV DC project in the world, this Project takes its initiative to develop and apply the hybrid cascaded UHV DC transmission technology of conventional DC + flexible DC in construction for the first time. As the "terminal station" of the Baihetan Transmission into Suzhou Project, Yucheng Converter Station is different from a conventional UHV converter station in its low-end part adopting the internationally advanced flexible DC technology and the high-end part adopting the conventional DC technology, which, in combination, may effectively enhance the safe and stable operation capability of the power grid.
The core power semiconductor device of the flexible DC converter valve of Yucheng Converter Station mainly employs the TG3000SW45ZC-P200 high-power crimping IGBT device developed and produced by our company.
Such device has been successfully applied to many flexible DC transmission projects and power quality improvement projects at home and abroad, and it takes a proportion of 60% for the first time in the Baihetan-Jiangsu Project, which marks a huge market breakthrough and breaks the market monopoly of international power semiconductor companies on high-power crimp IGBT.
